The Cafe Terrace (1888)
by Vincent van Gogh
Another well-known and universally recognised painting that I chose to draw a story about, this time exploring the lives of a group of characters who visit this cafe throughout the day and Tomas, the waiter plays a central role in the story. To suit my story better, I took the liberty of slightly modifying the 'painting' to include two women sitting together at the bistro table.
A n ordinary cafe like this can see so many passionate dramas, both internal and external, get played out in the lives of its clientele.
